How to Use Windows Remote Assistance

When you're having a computer problem, sometimes you might want help from someone else. You can use Windows Remote Assistance to invite someone to connect to your computer and help you, even if that person isn't nearby. (Make sure you only ask someone whom you trust, because the other person will have access to your files and personal information.) After connecting, the other person can view your computer screen and chat with you about what you both see. With your permission, your helper can use his or her mouse and keyboard to control your computer and show you how to fix a problem. You can also help someone else the same way.

Steps

1. Make sure that both your computer and your friend's computer is connected to Internet.
2. Start the windows messenger by Start->All Programs->Windows messenger.
3. Log into it by using your hotmail or msn account.
4. Add your friend(whom you are going to assist) in your friends list.
5. Select your friend's name by clicking on it.
6. See various options such as"Start Web Cam","Send Files" etc..
7. Check for the windows remote assistance option and double click on it.
8. Now a Remote Assistance window opens displaying your friend's computer screen.

Warnings

* Make sure you only ask someone whom you trust, because the other person will have access to your files and personal information.
* Make sure your friend accepts the remote assistance pop-up box when it prompts.
